Bilkent Instructor
1425.
Professor Dogramaci, the 'Hocabey' of Bilkent, was one of the very few true 'colossuses' or great men I have ever met. He was not on the same scale as the rest of us. He will live on through the fine universities and other institutions he created and in the life of a country which is now far better educated and more sophisticated than it was a decade or two ago. His most fitting monument, though may be the improved health and life quality of Turkish children and children in the world as a whole as a result of his work as a doctor at home and abroad. Not just a great man, he was also deeply human, sympathetic, and engaging and it is this which makes his passing painful even for those who only knew him a little. To his family, those close to him, and the Bilkent community as a whole, my deepest condolences. David Barchard
